Families
Do things feel chaotic and imbalanced in your family right now? Families are systemic in nature; both internal and external factors are constantly influencing its equilibrium and can easily cause the family unit to become overwhelmed. Internal factors such as communication, parenting and step-parenting layered with external factors such as extended family opinions, cultural and societal expectations can be a lot to manage. Whether you are a traditional or nontraditional family, these life challenges can impact each member in a very different way.
Family therapy allows members to discuss issues and concerns in a safe environment where the therapist focuses on making sure each member feels emotionally secure to have their voice heard. Using a blending of emotionally-focused family therapy with experiential and systemic approaches, we will discuss ways in which to strengthen family relationships, improve communications, and heal possible wounds of abuse, divorce, and/or addiction. As each family has its unique set of circumstances, a variety of experiential activities will be used in sessions.
